A Visit to the Empire Plaza
Here's some sights from the visit by our computer campers during our August 1999 Cyber Haus Computer Camp.
This the Corning Tower. We wanted to go to the observation deck on the top, but it was closed. |
This is a lincoln log tower that's next to the Corning Tower. We wanted to climb this tower but there was a fence around it (we found an opening and we closed it). But, there were smaller towers that we could climb. |
This is the Egg. It is both a sculpture and a building. There are two theatres in the egg, one on each side. |
Our fearless leader. |
On the left is one of the entrances to the plaza. It goes to a parking area under the egg. In the background is downtown Albany. Can you see the waterfall near the wall by the Egg? |
This is the Pepsi Arena. You can see sports events and shows. It is the home of the Albany Firebirds and the Albany River Rats. |
This is a landmark church near the Empire Plaza. It is the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. |
The fountain at the Empire Plaza. On the right is the Egg. Straight ahead is the Capital Building for the State of New York. |
