Baxter's Letter to the Class of '65, May 2000
Dear Classmates,
The
reunion is only three months away and we are winding up a very successful drive
for the Class of '65 Scholarship Fund. We
are well positioned to realize the original goal we established almost 35 years
ago of leaving a lasting legacy for the Class of '65 in the form of a perpetual
scholarship, which will continue to grow over time.
Through your generosity during the past five years, we now have over
$16,000 in the fund. The finish
line is in sight and there is one more opportunity to add to the success of this
very worthwhile project.
I
would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have shared
this dream with me and supported our efforts during the past 5 years to make the
Class of '65 Scholarship Fund a reality. Every
year during the last 35 years, I have received a Thank You note from the
recipient of our scholarship. Each
note has been sincere and genuine in thanking us for our gift.
However, these notes also served to remind me that the original goal we
had set as a class had not been met. We
have now realized the original promise. .
CONGRATULATIONS,
CLASS OF'65 WELL DONE!
Sincerely,
Baxter
