Climb The
Indian Ladder Trail!

Approximately 1000 feet above sea level, the view from the top of the Helderberg Escarpment is one of the most beautiful sights in New York.

On clear days it is possible to see the Adirondack foothills, the Taconics in Massachusetts, and the Green Mountains in Vermont.

The woods once covering the Helderberg plateau region are gradually coming back into their own. A wide range of trees can be noted - oaks, elms, red maples, birches, lindens, white pines, and many others. The trees are gorgeous in the fall.

Other plants can be found along the trail, incuding the Flowering Dogwood, Foxglove Clovers, and Bush Clovers on the front ledges. At the top of the trail Snowberries, June Berries, Hairy Honeysuckles, Prickly-ash can be found.

You are the Indian to climb the ladder.
